Communicating with Corporate America

It used to be a bit of a hassle to write a letter to the CEO complaining about something that a company may have produced or the way a service was given, but nowadays with the advent of SM this can be so much easier.  Maybe it's a situation at a car mechanic, maybe the food quality at a restaurant, maybe an unsatisfactory product received in the mail or at a store - so many reasons to be grumpy!  But now - so many avenues to Vent! That is IF the company has a web presence that is active in the social media arena.
I just tried to disconnect from a service ("Youmail") and went to the help section and posted my question - and there was No good answer.  It seemed other people had the same question. Then the page stated that it was NOT monitored by the company!  I was amazed.(I did finally figure it out, happily.)

Some of the Automotive companies have their own FAQ's as well as community support web sites and these can be incredibly helpful.

U-Tube is an awesome source for people who can't locate the User Manual for their possessions

I find that Yelp is one of my favorite ways to give feedback (mostly on restaurants) and as a result I use the community rating system quite a bit when choosing where I want to eat.  It works both ways.

3 Posts 3 Backgrounds

Identity crisis  (mine) coming into play here.  Sorry to confuse any readers that might exist out there...but I just HAD to change my background again, since I wanted to find a unique image - and this one happens to have been created by a very special artist friend who just turned 92 years old and still pursues his work daily.

Comparing personal vs business social media

my take on this issue is the following:  Facebook is the Mother of all social media sites -  very social in a personal way but also has value for certain business models - if the parameters fit  (such as the demographics of the "Likers" of the page). Twitter as well can be used both ways, and most amazingly for political uses.  Instagram, Printstagram,  seem very personally oriented, but again, it depends on the kind of business one is trying to promote. And Linked In uses appear to be business oriented, maybe a great way to find a job, but not necessarily to promote a business.  So the answer is....it depends!

Day 2

I must confess that when I chose the design for my blog, I was feeling my inner Gardener. The green growing grass is a beautiful image that photographically speaks to me.
Now however, on Day 2, I am thinking that I should get more application oriented about this blog, and apply the Project that I had intended for this class, i.e. Sergott Contemporary Art Alliance, or sergottart.com.  If I make a switchover to a new background, I will definitely miss the whimsical nature of the vital, growing grass and perfect blue sky, but hopefully I will find a new background that fits the new subject that is super appealing as well.

I will add a note here - now that I have converted my background to a new more abstract art template - that being an Abstract Art gallery it certainly makes sense to leave the green grass and sunshine image and move on to this new craziness!  pink red globules remind me of some of our artists' works,

Day 1 - Post 1 -

So here it is : my FIrst Time blog.
There is a first for everything.
And they say, you should do something NEW every day!
I am trying to write a blog for this class - I have NO IDEA what will happen to it - will it become the thing I had wanted to write for the mom n pop business that mama and papa just started?  good question!
Today is the first day of the New Year in the Jewish Calendar, by the way - so my New blog coincides with this New Year.  What will the New Year bring?
